Reducing Resistance; seasonal cultivation for a healthier life
Join me in looking at the nourishment available in moving with the 5 Elements. Specifically, the transition from Earth to Metal and Metal to Water (Fall into Winter). Class will include some qigong movement, and discussion will include tips on food, herbs, and lifestyle support. From the viewpoint of Chinese Cosmology, gain insight into our relationship to seasons from a deeper perspective. By enjoying this view, we cultivate less resistance, which means greater health.

The Garden of Your Gut; Internal Ecology as Foundation for Health
Hosted by The Weston Price Foundation
Sunday, June 15, 3pm-5pm
Burlington’s Fletcher Free Library, Pickering Room
Just like our external gardens, our internal ecosystem needs proper tending in order for us to flourish. The gastrointestinal tract is much more than a tube; it is the garden that determines much of the health of the organism. Many cultures have even referred to it as the “second brain.” In her talk, Acupuncturist and Herbalist Brooke Moen will outline this physiology, touch on the Chinese Medicine perspective, and discuss ways to tend to the garden of your gut. Brooke’s talk will last about 30 minutes, and leave plenty of time for questions.

Shared Wisdom of Dr. Weston Price & Doctors of Chinese Medicine
Hosted by The Weston Price Foundation
Sunday, February 16, 3pm-5pm
Burlington’s Fletcher Free Library, Pickering Room
Like all good doctors throughout history, Weston Price was a true anthropologist and scientific observer. It turns out the Chinese used these methods of inquiry as well, for thousands of years. As a result, Traditional Chinese Medicine includes dietary notions that are very similar to WAPF principles. As we explore these similarities, and understand the nutrient-dense diet from an energetic perspective, we re-affirm the wisdom of nature, and food itself. Join me in discussing the properties of fats, bone broth and fermented food, among other things. We will explore the Traditional Chinese Medicine view and how this aligns with the philosophy of Weston Price. By broadening your knowledge I hope to deepen your connection to food, and your experience of eating and cooking.
