Cupping is an ancient technique utilizing suction from small glass or plastic cups to encourage blood flow to particular points and/or areas of the body. The cups are either heated or use a pump to create suction as they are placed on the body. It feels a little like a firm massage or a "grasping" of the superficial tissues. It is a wonderful adjunct to Acupuncture and can be particularly helpful for stubborn musco-skeletal problems, kids afraid of needles, and/or additional circulation.
